Low-alloy carbon steel, which is ideal for cold-temperature service, is used to make LF2 Carbon Steel Flanges. It contains carbon, manganese, silicon, phosphorus, and sulphur. These flanges have an elongation of about 22%, a tensile strength of 485–620 MPa, and a minimum yield strength of 250 MPa. At temperatures as low as -46°C, LF2 flanges provide exceptional impact resistance along with good weldability and machinability.
