Monel Lap Joint Flanges are manufactured from Monel 400 or Monel K500, which are essentially made up of nickel (up to 67%) and copper and small amounts of iron, manganese, and silicon. This composition has better corrosion resistance when exposed to seawater, acidic, and alkaline environments. These flanges are very mechanically strong with tensile strength of between 480 and 790 MPa and a high ductility and toughness even at sub-zero temperature. Implemented for application with a stub end, Monel Lap Joint Flanges do not make direct contact with the fluid, minimizing flange wear and improving performance under corrosive service conditions.
