Monel Threaded Flanges consist of Monel 400 or Monel K500, consisting mainly of nickel (up to 67%) and copper along with traces of iron, manganese, and silicon. This alloy composition is highly resistant to corrosion, particularly in seawater and acidic environments. Mechanically, such flanges have tensile strength between 480 and 790 MPa, and good ductility and toughness at both high and sub-zero temperatures. Flanges that are threaded are provided with internal threads, meaning that they can be screwed directly onto pipes without the need for welding. Their strong construction provides leak-proof performance for moderate to high-pressure services and facilitates ease of maintenance and installation.
